BaRupOn LLC Opens Hiring for Head of Engineering – SMR / MMR Programs

BaRupOn LLC is actively seeking a highly accomplished Head of Engineering to lead and integrate all engineering functions for our Small Modular Reactor (SMR) and Micro Modular Reactor (MMR) programs in the United States. This executive-level position requires a leader capable of driving technical rigor and seamless integration across mechanical, nuclear, electrical, instrumentation & control (I&C), and systems engineering disciplines, from design through validation, licensing, and deployment.

The Head of Engineering will ensure that all engineering deliverables meet the highest standards of technical quality and regulatory compliance while leading cross-functional teams to manage complex programs in the highly regulated U.S. nuclear industry. This individual will work closely with the Chief Technology Officer (CTO), Chief Nuclear Officer (CNO), Director of Licensing, and other program leadership to ensure successful execution of engineering initiatives aligned with NRC requirements.

In this role, the Head of Engineering will oversee reactor design, system validation, and integration analyses required for NRC licensing and design certification processes. The position demands a leader capable of managing complex multidisciplinary teams, mitigating engineering risks, and ensuring alignment with project schedules, safety standards, and regulatory milestones.

Key responsibilities include leading the engineering integration process, ensuring compliance with nuclear design standards such as 10 CFR Part 50, Part 52, and ASME Codes, and driving technical decision-making across all engineering disciplines. Additionally, this role involves preparing and reviewing safety analysis reports (SAR/FSAR), responding to NRC requests for additional information (RAIs), and collaborating with licensing, operations, and project management teams to align engineering milestones with regulatory timelines.

The ideal candidate will have 12–20 years of engineering experience, with at least 7 years in senior or executive leadership roles within the U.S. nuclear industry. The candidate should have a proven track record of leading complex, multidisciplinary engineering programs for SMRs, advanced reactors, or large-scale nuclear facilities. A strong background in systems integration, design verification, and regulatory compliance is required, along with executive-level communication skills to represent the engineering team to regulators, company leadership, and external partners.

Preferred qualifications include a Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) certification, familiarity with advanced reactor technologies, modular construction, and digital engineering tools, and a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification. Membership in professional organizations, such as the American Nuclear Society (ANS), is also a plus.

Joining BaRupOn LLC means taking ownership of one of the most ambitious SMR/MMR programs in the U.S., shaping engineering practices from the ground up, and partnering directly with our executive leadership team. We offer competitive compensation and benefits, including equity participation tied to program and company milestones, and the opportunity to collaborate with top-tier technical talent at the forefront of nuclear energy innovation. BaRupOn
