BaRupOn LLC is Hiring: Government Relations & Partnerships Lead (SMR / MMR Programs) Leading Government Engagement for Nuclear Innovation

BaRupOn LLC is seeking a strategic Government Relations & Partnerships Lead to manage the company’s engagement with federal, state, and local stakeholders for its Small Modular Reactor (SMR) and Micro Modular Reactor (MMR) programs. This senior executive role will be pivotal in shaping BaRupOn’s policy, regulatory, and commercial strategies in the nuclear energy sector.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in U.S. nuclear or clean energy policy, with a proven track record of working with federal agencies like the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC), Department of Energy (DOE), Congress, and industry groups. This individual will serve as BaRupOn’s primary external voice, ensuring that the company’s programs advance through the regulatory and political landscape.

In this role, you will develop and execute government relations strategies aligned with project timelines and regulatory milestones. You will work closely with the CEO and senior leadership, tracking and responding to relevant legislation and policy initiatives. Building relationships with federal and state agencies and industry stakeholders is key, as is guiding BaRupOn through complex regulatory processes.

Additionally, you will oversee strategic partnerships with utilities, research institutions, national laboratories, and industry consortia that enhance BaRupOn’s competitive position. Representing the company in industry organizations and managing relationships with DOE program offices and federal interagency partners will also be central to the role.

This position requires collaboration with the Director of Licensing & Regulatory Affairs to support NRC pre-application processes and coordinate state and local permitting efforts. You will play a key role in shaping public affairs strategies and preparing executive briefings, policy submissions, and public comment responses.

The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Public Policy, Political Science, Nuclear Engineering, Law, or a related field, with 8–15 years of experience in government relations or regulatory affairs within the energy or nuclear sectors. A deep understanding of nuclear energy policy and experience engaging with government agencies is essential.

BaRupOn offers a rare opportunity to influence the policy and partnership landscape of U.S. nuclear energy. The role provides direct access to the CEO and the chance to shape the future of advanced nuclear energy in the U.S. Competitive compensation, benefits, and equity participation tied to program milestones are included.
