Head of Project Development / Program Director (SMR) BaRupOn LLC – Leading the Future of Nuclear Energy

BaRupOn LLC is seeking an experienced Head of Project Development / Program Director to oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of Small Modular Reactor (SMR) and Micro Modular Reactor (MMR) projects across the United States. This senior executive role involves managing all aspects of our nuclear program, from early-stage site evaluation and licensing to engineering integration, construction planning, and operational readiness. The Program Director will integrate efforts across technical, regulatory, procurement, and construction teams, ensuring each project meets its objectives while adhering to U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) requirements.

This position reports directly to the CEO and holds significant influence over BaRupOn’s short-term and long-term growth in the nuclear sector.

The Program Director will lead the lifecycle of SMR/MMR projects, ensuring full alignment with company strategy and NRC regulatory requirements. You will oversee integrated schedules, manage project budgets, and ensure accountability for expenditures. The role also includes coordinating closely with regulatory agencies, particularly the NRC, to ensure smooth licensing and permitting processes. You will be responsible for building and managing relationships with contractors, vendors, and stakeholders to ensure the program stays on track.

In addition, you will lead cross-functional teams from engineering, licensing, procurement, construction, and finance, and serve as the primary interface between these teams and executive leadership. Your ability to navigate complex risk assessments and regulatory challenges will be crucial to program success.

The ideal candidate will bring 15+ years of experience in large-scale nuclear or energy infrastructure projects, including significant experience with U.S. nuclear regulatory processes. A strong background in managing large teams and complex projects, as well as expertise in NRC licensing, will be key. Proven executive-level communication skills and a deep understanding of both the technical and commercial aspects of advanced reactor deployment are essential.

Preferred qualifications include a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Nuclear Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Project Management, or a related field. Certification as a Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) and Project Management Professional (PMP) is highly valued, along with experience in modular construction and nuclear project execution.

Joining BaRupOn offers the opportunity to lead a pioneering nuclear energy program at a decisive moment in the industry’s history. The role includes direct reporting to the CEO and meaningful influence over company strategy. We offer competitive executive compensation and equity participation tied to program milestones, along with a collaborative work environment that fosters growth and innovation in nuclear energy.
